Mirja Montag, Director of the GMW (Facilities Management Wuppertal), was born in 1976 and studied architecture in Wuppertal before joining BLB NRW (Bau- und Liegenschaftsbetrieb Nordrhein-Westfalen) in Dusseldorf. She completed the company’s graduate management programme and moved to the BLB NRW’s Cologne branch to head up its Asset Management department, where she became deputy branch manager in 2017. In December 2019 the Wuppertal City Council appointed her as Deputy Director of the GMW. She took up her position at the GMW in July 2020 and in November of the same year succeeded Dr. Hans-Uwe Flunkert as Director.
