Eckehard Lowisch (born 1966 in Iserlohn) was after training as a stone sculptor from 1989-1993 a student of and assistant to Tony Cragg. 1993-1999 he studied industrial design and sculpture with Prof. Eugen Busmann and Prof. Norbert Thomas at the University of Wuppertal. From 1999 to 2015, in addition to his own works, Eckehard Lowisch's studio created over 100 stone sculptures for Tony Cragg, based on his designs. Since 2014 he has been a lecturer at the University of Wuppertal, Department of Architecture, Subject: Representation and Design with Prof. Heinrich Weid. Since 2014, Eckehard Lowisch together with his wife Tine have been running the Kunststation im Bahnhof Vohwinkel, a non-commercial project space for current and future artistic positions. Lowisch lives and works in Wuppertal, Germany.
